Cockenzie Harbour
Cockenzie Harbour was first shaped as a Scottish Harbour in 1591 by James VI before this there had probably been a parish around the natural harbour line. After 1591 appropriate means of exporting coal that was buried around Tranent. It also contributed to the salt making in Prestonpans. The salt was extracted from the sea and heated in pans over coal fires
Today the Harbour is not used for commercial use, but still hosts a few boats . More photos
